Vern’s Organic Topsoil is a natural mix, consisting of loam, certified compost, and sand, mixed together and double screened. It is a general all-purpose mix, great for berms and other projects. For higher nutrient content, refer to our garden mix.

Garden Mix

Garden Mix

70% Fine PREP Organic compost, 15% Native soil, and 15% Screened Sand.This mixture provides a very rich topsoil, high in organics and fertility.Garden mix is good for vegetable gardens, lawns, berms, raised beds and specialty projects.

Fish Garden Mix

For higher nitrogen content and more nutrients, try our Fish Garden Mix. 50% Fish Compost and 50% Garden Mix, this excellent blend is the richest soil for gardens, especially in the winter time when plant-based composts have less nitrogen.

70-30 Lawn Mix

This mix consists of 70% Fine PREP Organic Compost and 30% screened Sand. The sand provides good drainage and the compost provides excellent fertility. This mixture is 99% weed-seed free.

This is an excellent addition or base for your lawn.

50-50 Lawn Mix

50-50 Lawn Mix

50% Fine PREP Organic Compost and 50% Screened Sand .

Sand provides excellent drainage and Fine PREP Organic Compost is great for encouraging growth. More sand is best for root vegetables like potatoes and carrots.

 Lawns with  hard-pan or clay (or that have a slight slope away from your home) will benefit greatest from this mix, especially during wintertime and heavy rain. This mixture is 99% weed seed free.

This combination is especially good for lawn areas that need more drainage.

Sandy Loam

Sandy Loam

 50% Native soil    50% sand

Sandy Loam is an inexpensive mix with excellent drainage.  This is a great lawn base for topping with topsoil or lawn mix. It can also be used for a rock free fill dirt.

Tailings

Tailings

The most inexpensive fill. Pea gravel to golf ball size rock and clay balls. Could have small sticks, 10% dirt. Excellent for fill behind bulkheads. Great Compaction.
